Jaguars’ Yannick Ngakoue to skip mandatory minicamp

The Jacksonville Jaguars will kick off minicamp with their top edge rusher.
Yannick Ngakoue released a statement saying following his contract desires haven’t been fulfilled, he will hold out of mandatory minicamp.
“I will not be attending minicamp as my contract has not yet been solved. I stay committed to the fans, Jacksonville and my teammates. My expectation is to be with Jacksonville for years to come,” Ngakoue said in a statement obtained by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

The former third-rounder that is 24-year-old enters the last year of his rookie contract slated to make a shade. He is underpaid when compared with talent and his creation. Ngakoue’s 29.5 sacks in three seasons are tops among gamers from his draft class, a group that includes Joey Bosa, DeForest Buckner, and Chris Jones.
Ngakoue is among the pass rushers that are youthful in the NFL. The Jags snagging him in the third round composed for its whiff on Dante Fowler Jr., whom the team traded past season. Now the Jags need to discover a way to pay Ngakoue commensurate to his value.
With contract talks not going his way, Ngakoue will use his system of recourse. Ngakoue is subject to penalties up to $88,650, each the CBA, by bypassing mandatory minicamp.
